CAS stands for: Creativity, Activity, Service
CAS is one of the three core requirements on the IB Diploma Programme. In order to qualify for the IB Diploma students must complete a CAS portfolio outlining the activities they have done over the 2 years. The activities should take approximately 150 hours outside of normal school hours and should cover all the strands of CAS.
CAS involves students in a range of activities alongside their academic studies throughout their final two years of school. It enables students to enhance their personal and interpersonal development through experiential learning. At the same time, it provides an important counterbalance to the academic pressures of the rest of the academic programme.
Some of the activities that students at SIS are involved in as part of CAS are:
- MUN – Model United Nations
- Rhino Preservation
- Amnesty International
- Student Council
