Teaching and Learning
The International Primary Curriculum (IPC), the IB Middle Years Programme (MYP) and the IB Diploma form the basis of the school's academic mission. All three programs are inquiry based methodologies designed to meet the individual needs of an exceptionally diverse student body. Stockholm International School recognises that the curriculum must address not only academic learning but also guarantee the development of all key learning processes. In addition, we recognise that social and personal skills are central to effective learning and development. To this end we use a three part curriculum model.
Academic: Represented by the IPC, MYP and IB Diploma.
Process: Ensuring that all students are prepared as learners in all learning processes that are independent of subjects (reading, writing, use of information technology, research).
Social and Personal: The school supports the socialising process for all students, promoting a values education and placing this in the context of being a global citizen.
