spa3The SIS Sports Association would like to welcome both new and old students to an exciting school year at SIS. To get in touch, please email sportsassociation@intsch.se

Structure and Overview:

A new entity has been established to streamline the development of our sports programming at SIS. We have established a formal Association with a separate Board comprised of students, faculty and parents.  We current offer the following team sports:  Soccer (fall season and spring season), Basketball (winter and spring season).  We will also form a floor ball (innebandy) team in the April to participate in the annual Nordic Network tournament.  In addition, pending interest, we will form a cross country running team which will also compete at the Nordic Network tournament.

We will offer two divisions, for both boys and girls: Seniors (Grade 9-12) and Juniors (Grade 6-8).

Details for each sport are as follows for 2016/2017 Season:

Soccer

Weeks: 18-28 (3 April - 12 June)
Price: 3,500 SEK (Spring Season)
Club Affiliation: AIK
Training/Location: Tuesdays at 6:45am @ Östermalms IP, Sunday afternoons time and location TBD

The Spring season will begin week 18 (3 April 2017) and run through week 28 (June 12 2017).  The program is coached by the well-known AIK Football Club.  Practices will be held on Tuesday mornings 6:45 – 7:45 at Ostermalms IP and we are adding a 2 hour practice on Sunday afternoons (time and location will be communicated as season begins).

In addition to weekly practices we will play local games and regional tournaments.  These include the Nordic Network Tournament in Malmo May 5-7, 2017.  We are also looking for an opportunity for the Sr Teams to play in a European tournament within the ESSL sports league as we did in the fall in Basel, Switzerland.  With top place finishes in a number of tournaments our program is developing nicely.

We are also pleased to announce that we have obtained a sponsorship from Nike for new uniforms.  We will also be providing an opportunity for players to purchase warm-up suits (with names and numbers) as well as a game kit and a Nike bag.  Order forms for the suits, jerseys and bags will be available late January 2017.
