Karen completed a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology at Cardiff University and then went on to gain a Post Graduate Certificate in Education, specialising in Early Years Education. It was always her intent to become an educational psychologist, however when she began the doctorate training programme it became clear that she missed teaching too much!
Karen went on to teach at a school for pupils with special educational needs, where a large number of the student population were diagnosed with autism. She taught across the primary age range and went on to become a member of the senior leadership team as the primary coordinator. Karen completed the middle leadership development programme and became a certified PROACT-SCIPr-UK® trainer, delivering positive behaviour management training to staff across Bath and North East Somerset.
In 2013, Karen moved to Stockholm and has been working at SIS ever since; initially as a substitute teacher before taking on the role of Pre-School Teacher and Early Years Coordinator. She enjoys working in an international environment where there is always so much to learn from both staff and pupils.
